Mindfulness and the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals): Relevance in Our Daily
Lives and Practices
Dear friends of mediation,
in the middle of our summer retreat we plan to have a special seminar. Below you will find more information about it...
Time: August 1st 2018, 9:30-11:00 and 15:00-17:00
As usually, there will also be walking meditation at 11:30 and sitting meditation at 17:00.
Course description
At the heart of the United Nations - Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs) is the imperative of profound human and civilizational
transformations in line with embodied concepts of mindfulness, empathy,
self-responsibility and quality of presence. While connecting the world of the
SDGs, Buddhist teachings and the art of Aïkido, this seminar will highlight the
significance of meaningful interactions with ´people and planet´ in daily lives
and practices. Focus areas will include food (SDG 12), health (SDG 3) and
interpersonal interactions (SDG 17). On August 1 (morning and afternoon),
participants will engage in Aïkido exercises and experience mindfulness,
connection and meditation in movement. They will then join a group discussion.
On August 2 (morning), Aïkido exercises will further inform and expand early
explorations.
